Aussie entourage arrives in Grevbo

The tour begins!

Our destination this year for the International Indian Rally is Kierpse in Western Germany. Six Aussies descended on the sleepy village of Grevbo Sweden on Friday 8 July where our good friend and host Jorgen Sundberg lives and runs the northern most Indian shop in the world (Jim having the southern most...). It's here that Jim keeps his Euro Chief and the little blue '41 Sport Scout that Jorgen built and I ride (my Bluebird) resides.
The touring party this year is: Lyndel and Jim, Jorgen and Catarina, Sharon and Pieter, and first timers Jim and Lovette. 9002C08FCF468B53EF12AFE3664F5FF1.jpeg
Our tour will see us driving to Germany to the home of our mates Mateus and Claudia in Duisburg. A couple of days spent in their locale and then we will ride our Indians (Lyndel, Jim, Jim, Jorgen, Pieter) and drive the Mercedes van with trailer (Sharon, Catarina, Lovey), via the Alsace region of France, to Mettmenstetten Switzerland to meet our friend Urz who will host us and lead us on a 5 day ride through the Swiss Alps including a quick foray into Italy. Across Lake Constance to Munich for a couple of days, again staying with Indian enthusiasts, and then we will head off to the rally, this year being held at Kierpse, on the last weekend in July. The route of our journey back to Grevbo is fluid at the moment with several options available for the drive home from Duisburg. Our only constraint will be to arrive back with time to service and wash the bikes, do some laundry and catch our 2:30pm flight back to Australia on Friday 5 August.
Today we will shop for some riding gear for Jim M and any last minute items the rest of us might need, do some washing, pack bags, set the new trailer up and load all the bikes, have a nap, and generally start to get really excited.
Can't wait for tomorrow to come!
